Father's Day Card.

Today is Saturday and it was a day of cleaning the house. Hey I even got DH in on the cleaning, lol. We had bible study at our house tonight and since my Dh had all of that time off awhile back and the kids are out of school, the house was turning into a real mess. I guess it has been worse, the kids just have to many toys and no where to put them. My Dh has this weekend off and always has Mondays off and then took Tuesday and Wednesday off. Tuesday is his Company's picnic and he took Wednesday off in case it rains on Tuesday. Well today he tells me he also has Thursday and Friday off and then goes back on the weekend. I say oh, you mean I'm stuck with you for a week, lol, I was kidding him...Well at least the house is clean today because we probably will be in and out all week.
Here is the card I made all the Fathers.
Recipe:
Stamps: Hanna Stamps- Riley Hammock, SU- All-Around Argyle
Ink: Versafine Black Onyx
Paper: LSS- brown, green, blue; GP white
Extras: Cuttlebug and Spots and Dots folder, Rectangle Nestabilities, embossing powder, brown ribbon, and Zig watercolor system markers
Well that's all for today, we have a church picnic tomorrow, see you soon...

Hello Summer!

I've been MIA lately. Yes vacation is over but the kids are out of school so I have alot less time to spend in the internet world. I will have some pictures and cards to share coming up. I'm just letting you know I'm still here and to keep coming back, thanks...

Second Posting today...

We started out the kids first day off by visiting the local pool. My daughter is like a fish in the water, takes after her dad. My son is a little more conservative like me. Here you can see my DH jumping from the highest diving board and a picture with DH and my son and daughter. We were there for four hours, it was kinda cool, 70 degrees, partly cloudy. We then went out to eat at a nice Chinese Restaurant. When we got home, me and DH were feeling kind of burnt. The kids just got a nice tan. Were were so burnt that we had a hard time laying in bed. We had to stay home the next day because we were so sore. The next day we went to The Mall Of America in MN. We first went to McDonalds for Breakfast. I took about 1 1/2 hours to get to the Mall. We spent alot of time walking. I visited my two favorite stores, The Disney Store and Archivers.
The kids favorite store is Lego Land. I bought a Score-Pal at Archivers and a few stamps, while I let my daughter pick a few stamps out too. For lunch the kids picked McDonalds, while we picked a Chinese Place. Next time maybe in July, we might go back and stay overnight across the street and buy tickets to the Nick Universe. They are in the process of remodeling right now. Later that night we decided to take the kids to our hometown McDonalds for Supper. They had a hamburger and apple dippers so that isn't all that bad. The happy meal toy was from the Kung Fu Panda Movie, which we went to the week before on opening day and the first showing. I also got a happy meal so they could get extra toys since they loved the movie. The fun was almost over on Friday because we had company over so we had to clean house, but me and my friend went to a Friday The 13 th Stamp Party at a LSS. It was fun day too. Saturday my DH had to go back to work. Make sure you come back soon because I have a Riley Father's Day card to show you. See you then...

I'm still on vacation, but here is a card for my DH's cousin that graduates tonight from High School. I'm sending it in the mail tomorrow since we can't attend her party this weekend. Her school colors are black and orange so I thought this would be a good one for her. We were to go to The Mall Of America today, but we went to The Eau Claire Fairfax Pool yesterday and got so burnt that we can't go today. It was a little rough sleeping last night...My little guy only got a little pink as for me and my DH, we are red.Recipe:

Confirmation Card.

A big congrats goes out to my godson Derek, he just got confirmed in Church today with 6 other confirmation students. I made this card for him last night. He seemed to like it alot. All of my family was amazed at the quality of my card. Many asked how I got the paper like I did, they don't have any cardmaking knowledge. I used an old SU set called Stained GlassII that I bought off of Ebay. The sentiment is computer generated with the Bible verse(Psalm 27:1) that was chosen by his Confirmation Teachers and the Pastor.

Recipe:
Stamps: Stampin Up Stained GlassII
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black
Paper: LSS unknown blue, black; GP white
Extras: Zig watercolor system markers, Art Institute Gingerbread Glitter, Cuttlebug and Textile folder, dimensionals, SU 2 way glue, and computer generated bible sentiment.

Nestabilities in the Cuttlebug picture tutorial.

My 5 year old son and I have been playing with our new Spellbinders Nestabilities ever since we got them. I decided to make a picture tutorial to make it easier to show people what they are all about and how to use them. So here we go with the help of my son. I have seen many different ways to layer(sandwiching) but this one works great for me.
Cutting.
Making the correct sandwich.
Start out with the A plate.
Add the B plate.
Add a sheet of paper big enough for the chosen size.
Here is the Nestie I'm using. As you can see, it has two sides.
One side had a raised ridge, which will cut the paper.
The other side is smooth and flat.
Next place the side with the raise ridge faced down unto the paper.
So now you will be looking at the paper and the smooth side.
Now add the C plate on top of the sandwich stack.
Be careful that you don't move it around too much so the Nestie
stays in place. You could tape the Nestie to the paper on the sides.
Now your ready to run the sandwich through. You
may hear a little cracking noise, that's common.
Flip over the cut shape.
The scrap of the extra paper will just pop off.
Keep the shape in the Nestie, set it aside.

Embossing.
Start out the stack with the A plate. When switching from
cutting to embossing I just leave the A and B plate
together on the Cuttlebug machine.
Add the B plate.Pick up your precut shape with the Nestie still together.
Place it on the stack as shown here.
Add the tan mat over the whole shape.
Add 3 sheets of cardstock cut the same size as the tan mat.
You may add more or take away some if the sandwich is too
loose or tight. If your embossing isn't showing up very much
you may have to add a piece or two of cardstock to the stack.
Add B plate to stack.
Run it through the Cuttlebug.

Here is what it will look like.
The paper will pop out with a little push.
Here is what you end up with, a beautiful embossed shape.
I hope this picture tutorial is helpful. My son and I had alot of fun making it. I was told that the Cuttlebug Alphabet will not work this same way, I don't know because I don't have it yet. I have only run Nestabilities as stated and it turns out great everytime and doesn't harm the Nesties. I'm not a demonstrator just an ordinary person. Use at your own risk. Thanks for watching and enjoy...

Circle Nestabilities!

Here is a picture of my daughter with my new Circle Nestabilities. I received them in the mail yesterday. My son and I went right to work on playing with them soon after opening them. We took some pictures of the steps that we used to cut and emboss. Some of the pictures turned out a little fuzzy so we'll have to redo them. We're going to make a picture tutorial on how to use Spellbinder Nestabilities in a Cuttlebug, which will be coming here soon so stay tuned. We also want to make a video tutorial of the Nestabilities in the Cuttlebug too but will have to see on that one. I'm not all that much of a computer pro. Luckily, I made all of this blog by myself. My son loves to help me with the Cuttlebug. I of course made a Birthday card for my dad with the new Circle Nestabilities and a Riley stamp. Stay tuned for that also. I have alot of thing to show you in the next coming days....

I went to a sale!

It's always fun to go to a used stamp sale. One of my LSS had its annual customers thrift sale a few weeks ago, it was my first time to go to it. Here's what I got. Most of the stamps were $5.00 some were cheaper. I got the SU punch box for $15.00, it was my best find. I was so happy to get the punch box, I've been watching them on E-bay forever and the going price is usually at least $35.00 or more. I've been working on Graduation cards recently, and I need to make a Birthday card for my dad. My Dh is on vacation for the next couple of days so I will be MIA for a couple of days and later cleaning house for our guests on the weekend. I'll probably be uploading my cards next week. Also have other cards in mind to make, just don't seem to have the time right now. The kids only have about 14 more days left of school, and then I'm sure I won't be on the computer as much, I'll be outside with them. They are only 5 and 7 years old and I won't let them go outside unless I or my DH is with them. We have a few other neighbor kids that like to come over and play with them. One day I found my sons pretend lawn trimmer laying on the ground broken, I asked him what happened? He said our neighbor boy Tony broke it. Tony was sitting there listening and didn't say a word. I said, next time let me know about it. It would have been nice if he said he was sorry. One day they were playing hid and seek, the two neighbor boys were hiding and my two kids were the seekers. My kids couldn't find them. Where were they? They were hiding in my garage. I was so mad, I said to Tony, how would your mom like it if I go over in your garage. Another day Seth has playing hid and seek with my kids. I told the kids no one in the house. Next thing my daughter say, mom they just went in the house. Oh no, I told them the house was a mess and they were not to come in. Seth was hiding in our spare bedroom that we store all our junk in. I told him he had to go home. Kids these days have no respect for anyones property. I haven't seen Tony in over a week, maybe he is hiding out from me. He is about 10 years old and maybe to old for my 5 and 7 year old. Ok enough venting. Got to go and clean. I hope your day is awesome...

Here is my first Nestabilities card. The stamp can be found at Stamp Affair and the powdered chalk and Buzz N Magic Paint can be found there also. Image stamped with Black Stazon and painted with q-tip with the mix of powdered chalk and paint. Sentiment from SU; Lots of thoughts with SU punches: scalloped and 1 3/8 circle. Paper LSS: unknown pink, green, and black and GP white. I used dimesionals to make image and sentiment pop. That's it for today, I must go and clean our house, Later...

Hello All!!!

Not much new here. Did you notice that my music playlist on the sidebar is gone? I've heard lots of bad comments on SCS about people not liking blogs with music. What do you think? Do you have an opinion about it? I took it away but I can put it back. My Dh didn't much care for it when I went to my blog and he was in the same room. I was getting tired of it to I guess, so I thought you would be too. Thanks for any opinions, later...

Oh happy day! The arrival!!!

My Spell Binders Nestabilities came in the mail on Friday. It's my Mother's Day gift, of course I have another coming whenever they are shipped to the store. It seems like everyone wants them at the same time. My next set is the circles, I was thinking ovals but changed my mind. My little guy helped me open the package. He is holding the package, you can see one of his eyes peeking through. This is what the classic set of Nesties come in, their all in one big pack.
Here are some of my examples. I had to play with it as soon as I got it in the mail. My little guy had his hand in it too. He had to help me. He wanted to make the sandwich but I just let him crank the cuttlebug and take out the cutouts when it was done embossing. Today my church is having a Brat/Hotdog stand at Walmart. My DH is cooking the food. This is our third year. I usually help them but I'm staying home to watch my two kids and my neice. Later on we're going to a birthday party at the park. Tomorrow is Mother's Day and I'll be MIA all day, maybe even Monday. My daughter has a dentist appointment so we have alot of running to do. Till then...

Iris Folding!

Here is a card I did at my LSS. I just added the Riley Easter Chick image to it today. I know Easter is long past but this will give you some inspiration for next year. Or you could choose a different shape of Iris Folding for Christmas and have a circle for a Christmas tree ornament. The possibilities of ways are endless. Cardstock is from my LSS, also used GP white. Markers are Zig watercolor system. The scalloped Marvy Punch is the oval, and the Iris Fold is a stamp that is stamped on another piece of paper and then taped to outside of punched out cadstock. The strips of thin design paper are one inch strips that are folded in half and taped on. This a very fun and relaxing project. The Iris Folding stamps can be found at Stamp Affair .

News flash update~~~I just received my first shipment of Spellbinders Nestabilities: Classic Rectangles in the mail a hour ago. I've been playing with them already. My next post I'll have them on it. Yay!!! I'm not sure if I'll be MIA in the next few days since it's Mother's Day and a weekend. My parents want to put their dock in the water this weekend and it's a big job and big gathering of all my siblings and their family. See you later...
